Exhibition “Together Against Sexism”

Sexism can be found in different forms of degradation and discrimination of people because of their gender. With the poster exhibition of the alliance “Together against Sexism”, we would like to start a discussion about the topic. The exhibition conveys basic information, shows data and facts and opens a broad access for all university members. Time and place of the exhibit can be found at the bottom of this site.

What is sexism?

Sexism is the degradation and discrimination of people due to their gender or gender identity. It is shown in language, behaviour, structures and societal expectations. That way, inequality and limited participation in private and public life is created.

About the alliance

The alliance “Together against Sexism” has been connecting organisations from different societal backgrounds since 2020. It fights for fair participation, the removal of discrimination and the promotion of equality. A special focus is put on the interaction between different forms of discrimination, as sexism seldomly occurs isolated.

Sexist structures have impact on both individual persons, as well as the societal togetherness. It reinforces inequality and solidifies stereotypical ideas. The exhibition attempts to raise awareness and give ideas, as to how a respectful and equal environment can be created.
