Coaching Programme for Women in Academia: Group coaching

The Gender Equality Service Centre supports women in academia in the context of the coaching programme with group coaching, which specifically aims at PhD candidates, PostDocs and Habilitandinnen. The group coaching will remain side by side with the programme CoMento (Coaching and Mentoring) and with the individual coaching within the context of the coaching programme.

What is group coaching?
Coaching in the group offers the possibility to reflect on current questions and challenges related to the professional role in a collegial exchange and under professional supervision. The participants will get impulses for finding solutions.

Which topics can be focused?

  • Continuous consultation and exchange of experiences
  • Systematic reflection and working on specific real life situations in your daily work with methods of systemic consultation
  • Collegial consultation and personal feedback
  • Situative theoretical input on current coaching topics provided by the coach

How does the coaching take place?
A first meeting is scheduled with the participants in advance. Further appointments are then scheduled together. Group coaching can take place either in person or virtually. Participation is free of charge. The number of participants is limited to 6 to 8 persons.

The only requirement is that you already have experience with coaching: You have either participated in individual coaching as part of the coaching programme or the CoMento programme or were able to take up coaching from another institution.

How do I register?
For the application please send a letter of motivation (max. 1 DIN A4 page) and your CV in German or English as one PDF to the coordinator for the Coaching & Mentoring, Dr Elena Köstner. She also provides further information on the programme. Please use for your application the language guide for the University of Bayreuth.
