Numerous aspects are important for planning an (academic) career. Some of them are present in the everyday life of women academics and other elements are often underestimated in their importance. In this workshop, we will discuss how individual approaches can be reconciled with the respective conditions, based on the diversity of educational biographies, approaches to science and expectations. Starting from the status quo of the current situation of the respective participants, we will work out what their goals could be and how the numerous tasks can be well organised despite uncertain future perspectives.

The participants will then be able to,

• know the numerous aspects that are relevant for career planning.
• assess their status quo well.
• recognise where they should focus more attention.
• to control how they systematically build up their self-confidence and maintain it well.
• distinguish between individual and structural conditions.
• differentiate their short-, medium- and long-term goals.
• prioritise their activities according to their importance.
